Humpback Rock
Yesterday my friend Teri and I went hiking up Humpback Rock. It's a great hike just off the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. I haven't been since middle school, and I vaguely remember that. We met at the top of Afton Mountain at the old, deserted Howard Johnson's (now that is a staple in all childhood roadtrip memories!!) From there we took one car about 5-6 miles down the Parkway to the base of Humpback Rock. It took us 37 minutes to climb up (sign says it should take 40!), and no matter how long it takes you the view is definitely worth it!!!
